At DeSonie Roofing, we choose to do things the right way—not the easy way.
While laying new shingles over old ones (a “layover”) might seem like a quicker, cheaper option, it comes with risks we’re not willing to pass on to our customers:
Layovers don’t allow us to inspect the decking underneath. That means rot, soft spots, or water damage can go unnoticed—and get worse.
Adding another layer of shingles puts extra stress on your roof structure over time.
New shingles don’t perform the same over an uneven surface, which can lead to premature wear and tear.
What seems like a “cheaper” option now can turn into expensive repairs later.
We remove the old roofing so we can inspect, repair, and install your new system the way it’s meant to be—giving you a roof that lasts.
If we wouldn’t do it on our own home, we won’t do it on yours.
